This selection of images is from a
larger series of black and white photographs made in the Fall of 1991. Together with colleague Cynthia Gneiser, we traveled for three and a half months in a Volkswagen van through the United States.

I used a Widelux 35mm panoramic camera to photograph individuals in their local environments, ranging from small towns to big cities. Short video interviews were also conducted with the people in these locations.
